Mitsubishi LVP-HC5000 1080p LCD Projector

Along with the announcement of 2 new DLP Projectors - HCT3100 and HCT1100, Mitsubishi surpised the crowds with a new 1080p ( 1920x1080 ) LCD projector. LVP-HC5000 is the first native 1080p projector from Mitsubishi and is built on C2FINE LCD panels from 3LCD/Epson. The processing is done by Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX 10-bit chip. 1000 Lumen projector boosts 10000:1 but press release does not say if there is an iris involved. I would image there is one since 10000:1 is pretty high for LCD.

Video inputs include HDMI and DVI-D, as well as all legacy analog inputs. Accepted video types range from 640x480 to 1920x1080 ( 1080p ).

Projector is set to launch on October 12th of 2006 with unspecified price.
